Campbell, M.D., Chief Medical Officer at the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Sibley Heart Center and Director of Sibley Heart Center Cardiology, was the recent recipient of the “Keep the Beat Community Champion Award” from the Medtronic Foundation. On August 15th the Foundation presented Dr. Campbell with a $5,000 grant to Children’s Project S.A.V.E. (Sudden Cardiac Death: Awareness, Vision for Prevention and Education) to further the organization’s efforts to prevent sudden cardiac death in Georgia schools. The award recognizes individuals and programs that contribute to saving lives from sudden cardiac arrest with CPR and early defibrillation. In support of the cause, Governor Sonny Perdue and Mayor Shirley Franklin proclaimed August 15, 2005 as “Keep the Beat Day.” The award ceremony took place at the James Taylor concert at Chastain Amphitheatre on August 15.
