So I have my Medical Response Technician test on Tuesday and I was just going through notes I typed up the other day and watching a few videos on CPR on youtube, and I noticed that in the videos they didn’t check for a pulse and I also forgot to put it down in my notes. I know for a fact that we have to check for a pulse, but of course, now I don’t remember exactly when to check.
Here is what I have for the steps:
-BSI, scene safety!
-Talk to victim; Are you okay? Can you hear me?
-Ask partner/bystander to call 911
-Head-tilt, chin-lift; listen to air coming out of the nose, feel for air coming
out of the mouth, watch for rise in chest
-Give 2 breaths with BVM
-Start compressions, ratio of 30 compressions to every 2 breaths,
-Continue doing compressions & using BVM until medical personnel arrive with AED
If I remember correctly, you would check for a pulse after giving the initial 2 breaths with the BVM, but before starting compressions.
Would that be right?

This and the next two questions pertain to this scenario. After confirming the patient is apneic and pulseless, you apply the AED and push the analyze button. After the first shock is delivered, you should:
a.) begin oxygen therapy by nonrebreather mask at 15 liters per minute.
b.) check airway, breathing and circulation status and press “analyze” again if the patient is still in cardiac arrest.
c.) check airway, breathing and circulation status and begin CPR if the patient is still in cardiac arrest.
d.) remove the AED to avoid getting shocked when touching the patient.

1. A commercial jet can fly from San Francisco to Dallas in 3 hours. A private jet can make the same trip in 3.5 hours. If the two planes leave San Francisco at noon, after how many hours is the private jet twice as far from Dallas as the commercial jet?
Clearly show all the steps in the solution to this problem, including charts and equations. Give your answer as whole hours and fractions of an hour.
2. Two lines, AB and CD, intersect at point E. Their intersection forms two angles, AED and CEB, which have measures that can be expressed by these two quadratic expressions:
2x^2 + 3x + 15 and 3x^2 + x – 20
Find all the possible measures of angle BED.
Extra: If the measures of angles AED and BED are 195 – 3x – x^2 and 2x^2 – 4x – 5 then what are all of the possible measures of angle BED?
Thanks in advance!!

Two line segments, AB and CD, intersect at point E. Their intersection forms two angles, <AED and <CEB, which have measures that can be expressed by these two quadratic expressions:
2x^2 + 3x + 15 and 3x^2 + x – 20 in that respective order (meaning <AED is 2x^2 + 3x + 15 and so on…)
Find all of the possible measures of <BED.
If the measures of <AED and <BED are: 195 – 3x – x^2 and 2x^2 – 4x – 5 in that respective order, then what are all of the possible measures of <BED?
Please help me, I don't really get how to solve this problem…
