I am currently working in Dubai and my current package includes – AED 60,000/annum (in hand) + one bedroom fully furnished flat in Jumeirah + Conveyance.
I am being offered a job in London. The offer is of £28000/annum (£24000-basic + £4000-london living allowance), which will be reviewed after 6 months.
Is it worth taking the offer? I know London is one of the most expensive city! Can someone suggest if:
1. This is a good salary given my exp and profession?
2. Also if some knows, will the entire salary be taxable? Or just the basic? What kind of tax will be applied to the salary? I checked some website and figured my in hand per month would be aprox £1900. Is that correct?
3. When renting a house, is the water, electricity, gas, council tax, everything usually included in the rent? If not, how much would I be expected to pay for that? I dont mind sharing a flat, as long as I atleast have a room to myself. Is it realistic to get a good shared falt in a central ares for £600/month?
Many thanks in advance!
Cheers!!

c.1386, from O.Fr. edifice “building,” from L. ædificium “building,” from ædificare “to build,” from ædis, variant of ædes “temple,” in the pl. meaning “dwelling, building,” originally “hearth” + the root of facere “to make” (see factitious). ædis is from I.E. base *aidh- “to burn” (cf. Gk. aithein “to burn,” Skt. inddhe “burst into flames,” O.Ir. aed “fire”).
…………………….so…..where is it from….i see a lot of places that say “from..” but i dont know which one is the answer. so if you know a site that would be easy for me to read and understand, awesome! and if you can tell me how to read them, even better!!!! tell me those 2 things and i will totally give you 10 points!!!!
oh, and what are the 3 english terms for origin? theres OE(old english), ME(modern english)…so whats the 3rd?

Hiring is thin right now, but I’m trying to build a resume. I have a little over a year of college credits in Psychology. I have three years as a security officer where I learned First Aid, CPR, AED, and learned how to deal with customer service issues including upset or irate customers and how to diffuse aggressive situations. I speak basic level Japanese and am continuing my education in that language. I have some other guest service experience prior to my security experience (more than three years ago). I meet the height and weight requirements, and I am very patient.
Do I have enough to build a resume that would get me an interview? If not, what should I improve?

Okay I am going to be a junior this coming fall. The name of my high school is called the Academy for Allied Health Sciences, I applied to get into it. I just want to get an idea if I can get into a good college. My dream colleges are NYU or Columbia. I am Hispanic and will be a first generation college student from my family.
GPA is between a 3.8-3.9
I don’t really know where I rank in my class since there are only 65 of us, I believe I am somewhere in the 10 or 15%
Gotten mostly all A’s except for about 2 B’s.
Club officer for HOSA (treasurer) and the Spanish Club (Vice President and then later promoted to President)
Nominated for the National Youth Leadership of Medicine
I have participated in Relay for Life (an organization to raise money for cancer research) for the past two years and have become a team captain as well
Volunteered at a nursing home for 10 months and have gotten over 200+ hours
I have been involved in an Intergenerational Student Youth Social Justice Tour to the Dominican Republic where I and 20 others learned about poverty and helped with community service learning project over the summer
I am a music student (guitar) and I draw very well – these are just some of my hobbies
I am CPR/AED certified for both the American Red Cross and the AHA
Participated in a week of Nursing Camp at my local hospital
I am taking AP Chemistry this year and intend to take all AP’s next year
I do not participate in any sports at my school since there are none (we would have to be affiliated with the middle school teams) but I do participate in intramurals
Some things I have not done but intend to do this junior year are: Take the SATs at least twice and take SATIIs twice as well as the ACT later on
I am also going to volunteer at my local EMS and take an EMT course to become an EMT by December and hopefully get a job after
I also wish to sign up for the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society when the time comes around in October/November and take some other club officer position in my clubs of interest
I will become very nervous when applying for a college comes around but i do hope i have a diverse background to be admitted into either NYU or Columbia or any other good college in either New York/New Jersey
I am not one of those people who only anticipate getting accepted into Ivy League schools, I just want to go to a school that ranks high in my interests (i.e. my kind of major, location, cost etc)
Sorry if this post is too long I just want some comments/advice.
Thank you!

Ethnicity: Asian (Filipino)
Employment Status: Single
Base Salary: AED 19,000
Housing Allowance: AED 8,000
Car Allowance: AED 2,000
Bonus: AED 3,000 per month after completion of 2 years contract
Leave: 22 days + 2 air ticket per year
Others: Employer’s informs that package can be reviewed after 6 months depending on performance for option in bringing my family (wife + children ages 4 & 2).
Is this package acceptable/reasonable for a Filipino Senior QS job position in Dubai?
Is this minimum, or average or high salary package for QS?
Many thanks.

I had asked a question on this forum about Dubai, I am very confused with some of the repsonses. I am getting a job offer from a company in Dubai. The offer is AED 1 million per year. The company will pay for education for my children, business travel once a year home, medical. Housing and car is included in this annula salary. Is this enough ????
One time furniture allowance is AED 50,000 and signing bonus is AED 175,000.
Can you please give me an opinion if this is a good salary.
