Because it works, doesn’t require special equipment, and can easily be taught to the general population, requiring no medical backround.
And no, it ain’t sexy. The victim may well puke in your mouth. You are too stressed at the time to notice her ta-ta’s anyway. Working your butt off. CPR is very tiring, very fast, if you aren’t in peak condition.
It does feel pretty cool to help save someones life though.
