How Much Should A Babysitter Be Payed? 1 Boy Around Age 3. I Am Cpr Certified.?

I have been babysitting for a few years and am well qualified; however, in the past, I’ve accepted whatever the parents gave me and it was all good. Now that my family and I moved to a new area (central florida), parents ask what I charge and I’m not sure what to say. I’m afraid I’ll give the wrong price or limit myself.

Hi there, I live in Florida also. I pay my 17 year old babysitter $8 an hour for 2 kids. She claims that’s more than what others pay. . .but I’m not for certain. I’ve asked “How much to pay a babysitter” on this site twice before and got a HUGE range of answers, anywhere from $3-$25 an hour!! It may also depend on a few things. . .how old are you? Do you drive? It’s great and helpful that you are CPR certified, good for you!
Judging on what you’ve said above, I would say $6-7 an hour, but of course it just depends on the situation.

I would say $12 per hr for one child.
IF you live in a very affluent area, $15.
We pay teenagers $10 and College kids/teachers $15
    ( NYC metro area)

I’d say start with $12/hour, but offer less if it’s a regular thing (like $10/hour if you’re working for the same family a few hours at the same time every week).

tell the parents that you are cpr certified and ask them how much are they going to pay you hourly but dont be rude to them.
