If A Man Has A Defibrillator In His Heart, And Gets Shot, Will The Defibrillator Keep Him Alive?
Short answer: yes they can.
If an internal defibrillator has been placed it has the capability to correct the heart from cardiac arrest which is a very popular result (if not inevitable) from getting shot. Remember though, its only taking care of the heart malfunctioning and you will die if you don’t receive help afterwards as you need blood transfusions or else you will die from having too little blood in your system – this causes the heart to go into cardiac arrest, which may be corrected once or maybe even twice by the defibrillator but the heart wont keep a stable rhythm for too long and if no help is given you will eventually die.
Does it save you if you never will receive treatment for a gunshot wound? – No.
Does it greatly reduce the mortality rate in cardiac arrest that is caused by trauma? – Sure it does, but theres only a chance that it can work.
So it may be the blast of help that you may just need at your darkest hour, but it wont full out save you.

First off defibrillators aren’t actually in the heart they’re connected to it and are designed to deliver electrical impulses to it when your heart goes into either VT or VF. Now to answer your question while defibrillators can save you if the conditions are right in this particular instance no a defibrillator won’t save you the reason is cause they’re designed to shock certain arrhythmias not replenish blood volume lost and that’s the primary concern and cause of death of a GSW.
