A protien skimmer is just what it says. It skims protien out of the tank. The bakpak has 2 tubes coming out of the main body. The large one is the exhaust and the small one is the intake. Hang the body on the back of the tank. It should have come with a powerhead(rio600 or maxi 1200). Slide the powerhead into the intake tube. There is a short airline that runs from the back of the powerhead to the insert part of the powerhead, just below where it hooks into the skimmer intake. The other long airline hooks to the other back of the powerhead and runs up and out of the tank and clips to the skimmer body. Your collection cup gets the rubber ring around it about an inch or so down from the top. This cup sits in the body above the intake tube. Plug the powerhead in and your ready to go. Keep an eye on the collection cup and empty when needed.
